Things to Consider:
1.What is the personal value of the cigars. Are they blowout specials or do they have a personal significant value to you?
2. Will you be aging or storing the cigars? Aging would be more than a few months and storing would be cigars you would enjoy in the near future.
3.How many cigars do you need to store in a 12 month period and how many years do you plan on enjoying cigars?
A very effective, simple and economical option would be to use a Boveda Humidity Pack (around $5.00).You can use any type of container that is airtight, oderless and made from a form of plastic. For example: Zip lock bag or Tupperware container. Depending on the size and quantity of cigars, you might need more than one Pack. Just remember to keep them in a non-lighted area of your home. Aside from sunlight , indoor lighting can also effect the cigars.
When its within your budget.
If you plan on enjoying cigars for years to come I would HIGHLY recommend purchasing a second humidor for storage or aging. The price for a good humidor is very reasonable. If you think about how much you will spend on cigars over the years to come a humidor is a great investmemnt. A quality cedar humidor with a GOOD SEAL and you will experience enjoyment for a lifetime! Relax and Enjoy, Valencia Cigars and News
Just because a cigar has a high retail price does NOT mean it will offer an appealing taste to a large market of cigar aficionados. Higher prices for most Premium cigars are justified by the investment made from the manufacture. In the world of Premium cigars everyone involved is paid more to produce less quantity, but higher quality. Lets keep in mind that cigars are very subjective. What is important is that YOU enjoy your purchase and believe it was worth every penny of YOUR hard earned money. http://www.cigarsandnewsstand.com/

I call this scenario the “Found Treasure”. I recommend you first place the cigars in a zip lock bag with a humidity gauge and let them sit for about 2 days. Once you know what humidity level you are starting at you can determine what the safest way is to introduce humidity back into the cigars. If the cigars are starting at a level higher than 60% RH you can place them into a humidor that has relative humidity between 65% and 70% +/- 2%. If the cigars are at below 60% RH you MUST introduce humidity in stages. I have had great success introducing humidity in increments of 5% to 8% RH. The most important thing is to introduce humidity SLOWLY! Do not fill your humidification device completely. You want to use a very low water level (1/4 full). Place the cigars, humidification device and RH gauge into a zip lock bag. After a couple of days there should very little water in the humidification device. Keep the cigars in the bag for 2 to 3 days while monitoring the RH daily. After 2 to 3 days refill the humidification device to the same original low level (1/4 full). After 4 to 6 days the humidity should stabilize. Once the humidity has stabilized you are ready to fill the humidification device in ¼ increments this time ½ full and again using the time frame as the first step until you reach your desired RH level. Just a Friendly reminder: introduce humidity very slowly and of course only use distilled water. Good Luck! http://www.cigarsandnewsstand.com/
